We went to The Greek on Main for the first time as we were celebrating my Nephew’s 20th Birthday. It was a great choice as the Food from the Appetizers to the Main Course was top notch. For appetizers we tried the Cold Platter with Hummus, Taziki, and the Eggplant Dip(Not sure what it’s called) and then we also had the Calamari (Fried and Grilled). The cold platter came with plenty of Pita and sliced Cucumbers. They even gave us more pita bread when we ran out. The Calamari while both our dishes were tasty and excellently prepared I would give the Grilled Calamari a slightly higher rating because it is a bit healthier. We all mostly had different Main dishes and they all were excellent. We had the Red Snapper which is flown in fresh daily and it was flakey and delicious. The Rack of Lamb was cooked a perfectly medium rare. The Moussaka which was also prepared well was more moist and tasty than any other Moussaka I’ve ever tried. The rib steak we also got was cooked well and came with great grilled vegetables. Better than the food was the Service. Our server was very attentive and kept coming back and checking on us often refilling our drinks and getting us anything we needed. She even gave my 4yr old son some extra bread to go as he loved the Pita Bread. Overall our experience was awesome. I would come back to eat here anytime and would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for top notch Greek Food!!! Oh I forgot to mention we also had the Greek Salad. It was very very tasty and seemed like it was freshly made. The portion was enough to feed an Army.

Friendly chef and staff and service. They really make an effort to know you and give you what you want. We have been there four times so far, and all the experiences are fabulous!!!

Traditional Greek recipes, excellently prepared with quality ingredients and with that chef’s extra twist added keep this local Greek-American returning to the restaurant week after week. In my opinion, the regular and special menu items, along with extensive appetizer (your grilled octopus is heavenly!) and dessert menu make the Greek on Main the best restaurant in Metuchen for all palates.

Absolutely phenomenal meal tonight! Bone in pork chop with tasty potatoes and spinach , Madagascar prawns over orzo with veggies and creamy goat cheese. We brought our own wine and it was perfect with the bread pudding and fig ice cream. Service was great and followed up by the manager – both very proud of how pleased we were! You must dine here soon! We will return!
