Thalasina Yuvetsi Review – Our Local’s Guide to Our Favorite Central Jersey Seafood Dishes

Thank you By Melissa Beveridge for the review! Located in the heart of New Jersey, The Greek On Main (419 Main Street, Metuchen 732-515-9457) channels the hearts of seafood loving Greeks with whole grilled fish and specialties like their Thalasina Yuvetsi, a combination of clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari in a garlic, white wine, and tomato sauce all served over orzo pasta. It’s the Greek cousin of paella – and the Greeks probably thought of it first.

Edison Arts Society (EAS) Presents Nella Zadra at the Greek On Main

Nella Zadra, an international artist who graduated from the College of Fine Arts
in Buenos Aires Argentina. After working in commercial art and sculpture for several years, she decided to concentrate on mural painting but continued to enjoy creating smaller pieces.

She left a legacy of more than 50 murals throughout Buenos Aires where she participated in group and
individual exhibits. In working for the Historic Monuments Society, Zadra helped to restore three historic temples and created scenery for the opera “Francesca da Rimini” at the very prestigious Symphony Hall in Newark, NJ.

Her exhibit at the Greek on Main Restaurant, Main Street in Metuchen will open on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 1 pm to 3 pm and close on July 13, 2017. Please come and feast your eyes as well as your pallet.

EAS president, Gloria S. Dittman, complimented Teddy Pappas, owner of the Greek, for supporting
the ARTS! We hope that everyone will visit the exhibit and support our artists here in NJ. If I may,
I’d like to leave you with this thought — “Art transcends all barriers, all languages and speaks to everyone.”

Metuchen Spring Street Fair

On Sunday, May 21, 2017, the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Spring Street Fair along Main and New Streets in downtown Metuchen. The Spring Street Fair was visited by thousands of people during the beautiful spring day. There was plenty of representation by food vendors and restaurants, retailers, crafters and more. We sold out of our pork and and souvlakia and Greek desserts early in the afternoon, but were so grateful for the patrons that came in to dine with us. Thank you all ad looking forward to an even better street fair next year!

A Local’s Guide to Finding Those Middlesex County Hidden Gem Restaurants (and Beyond!)

Right on Main Street, The Greek On Main offers traditional Greek dishes in a fun atmosphere. It’s all about the oompah when it comes to the flavors and the service! Popular dishes include the drunken clams and mussels as well as the moussaka. But, we always have our eyes on the Lemon and Olive Oil cake.
